Featuring a thermometer to the front at the centre, and a compass to the top above the barometer, this exquisite compendium carriage clock combines a variety of skilfully wrought technical elements to create a beautiful dual-faced instrument.

The barometer dial is inscribed 'Made in Paris', and the pillared case is set with wonderfully decorated red enamel panels. The piece also features escapement viewing dials through which to view the delicate and intricate machinery within. Made in the late 19th century originally as a travel piece, this excellent item is a beautiful collector's piece and testament to the history and sophistication of Parisian crafts.
