This grand and impressive rectangular table is crafted in ormolu (gilt bronze), together with the violet coloured quartz crystal, amethyst.
Designed in the Empire style, the table features a rectangular amethyst top, with canted edges, above a recessed amethyst apron featuring sphinx ormolu mounts. The apron corners are further decorated, each featuring an ormolu portrait mount framed within a circular laurel wreath.
The top is supported by four magnificent ormolu legs to each corner, sculpted in the form of a mythical winged beast, with lion head, acanthus leaf body, all supported on a single paw foot.
