Description

The vitrine, or display cabinet, is crafted from beautifully carved giltwood, gilt metal, and plate glass. The cabinet is raised by six fluted tapering legs. The legs support the body, which has canted corners to the front. The cabinet is accessible with side doors, the doors located on the canted corners, opening to two glass shelves. The bottom of the interior of the cabinet is mirrored, while every other side is enclosed with plate glass. The cabinet features subtle decoration, particularly evident in the foliate frieze that marks the top of the apron, as well as the classically inspired legs.
