This fine Neo-Grec style three-piece clock set, which is crafted from cast iron and porcelain, is comprised of a central mantel clock and a pair of flanking candelabra.
The mantel clock features a shaped cast iron base moulded with foliate detailing, a Greek key pattern frieze, and other motifs drawn from ancient Greek art and architecture. The base is centred with a red ground porcelain bowl painted in the round with a figurative frieze, the bowl flanked by two oval porcelain plaques depicting similar figures. The porcelain bowl is surmounted by the clock drum, which contains a dial inscribed with red Roman numerals. The drum is set within a palmette-like pierced crown, which is inset with three further red ground porcelain plaques.
The two-branch candelabra are similarly decorated, each featuring a cast iron frame inset with a red ground oval porcelain plaque painted with Greek figures. Each candelabrum is surmounted by a finial comprised of pierced dramatic masks.
