By Leshnevska, Yaryna (Ukrainian, active 21st Century)
Through the intricate use of luxurious materials, this piece is filled with metaphorical meanings relating to one’s dreams, astrology, and future goals.
This intriguing sculpture is designed by a Ukrainian artist Yaryna Leshnevska, for SUPERNATURAL. Made from a large selection of luxurious materials, the artwork is designed to inspire and motivate one to chase their dreams.
At the centre of the sculpture is a stack of raw pyrite crystals. As each crystal is unique in its design, the centre represents the owner’s individuality. Surrounding the pyrite crystal composition are brass constellations of Major Ursa, Orion and Virgo symbolising the dreams and possibilities surrounding a person. In areas, dainty pieces of ruby and sapphire add a touch of sparkle to the composition. The complex composition is mounted atop a dome-shaped lapis lazuli piece.
Mounted on top of the round, vibrant blue lapis lazuli base, are several engraved silver gilt features. A clock is meant to remind the owner of the sculpture to use the time effectively, while the 360-degree circle framing the clock encourages strategic thinking and planning.
The edge of the lapis lazuli base is further ornamented with meaningful silver gilt mounts. Edward de Bono’s ‘Why-questions’ concept is engraved on the circular mount, aiding in prioritizing one’s tasks.
The whole sculpture is surmounted by a delicate piece of Citrine quartz representing the concentration with which one chases their dreams.
The sculpture comes with a fitted case, securely protecting the piece.
Celebrating Ukrainian artists and high quality craftsmanship, the kinetic sculpture is guaranteed to be an attention-grabbing feature of one’s decorative scheme.
