Description

This wonderfully realistic model of a duck has been crafted with the utmost precision: modelling a sitting duck, the figure utilises many fine pieces of silver wire to resemble hair around the bird's head and chest. The duck's wings and tail have been crafted with wider, engraved strips of silver which have been shaped to resemble feathers. The bird's beak and eyes have been shaped from solid silver. The duck is shown sitting down and looking up, with its neck resting on its back.

The piece is made in the style of Mario Buccellati (Italian, 1891-1965), the famed Italian jeweller who was known, among other things, for his intricate, beautiful animal sculptures. This is an exquisite piece which is the result of skillful craftsmanship.
