Large antique French silvered rectangular mirror

Made in France in the nineteenth century, yet imitating the eighteenth Century Dutch style, this beautiful antique mirror is wrought from superbly cast silvering, resulting in an exceptional interior addition.

It features extensive floral decorations, both in terms of a large surmount, but also to the four corners, atop a series of lattice like rectangular beams that frame the central panel. The intricate, elaborate and highly floral silver decoration above the mirror finishes with a single central vase to crest it, ensuring the ornamentation is united by a singular piece, that unites the indulgent Baroque decoration with an element of Neoclassical discipline, creating a wonderful effect, and an unmissable antique piece.
