Description

Crafted in 19th century France, this pair of charming vases is by Baccarat, one of the best French glass manufacturers.

The opaline glass, amphora form bodies are expertly hand-painted with a rich bouquet of flowers. Each bouquet slightly differs in composition but their pastel, refined colour palette ensures design cohesion. Shades of orange, red, yellow, and green predominate. One of the vases includes eye-catching blue accents drawing the observer’s attention to the stunning floral designs. The trumpet-shaped necks as well as the reverse of the vases are further adorned with smaller floral compositions.

Shining gilt decoration on the lips of the vases as well as the bases add elegance to the sweet illustrations. A selection of slender blue lines is a further feature of the vase designs.

Baccarat was founded in 1764 and quickly became renowned for its high quality glass pieces. The firm received royal patronage from King Louis XV and won many awards at international exhibitions making it very fashionable amongst the international elite.

Wonderfully crafted, this pair of Baccarat glass vases would be a superb home décor piece that can be displayed with or without flowers.
