Wowing with its vibrant colours, this magnificent chandelier is crafted in the lavish Belle Époque style, conjuring up the luxury of late 19th century France.
The chandelier consists of a central stem of red glass with detailed carvings, which is separated into multiple tiers. From the lower tier, a large number of upward curving arms of alternating heights extend, all of which end in hurricane shades with waving rims. The upper tier features a smaller set of downward curving arms, which each connect to a beautiful column of flower-shaped pendants that end with a single droplet, creating an illusory falling effect.
The decoration on the chandelier is one of its most impressive features. Each of the clear hurricane shades are carefully etched with repeating foliate patterns which stand out even more once the chandelier is lit. All the shades sit on a flower-shaped cut glass piece with further droplets hanging around its circumference, creating a sense of design unity between the two tiers. From the base of the chandelier are further cut-glass floral and droplet decorations.
This chandelier is a masterful recreation of the exuberant style of design in France at the end of the 19th century and is sure to add a touch of luxury and opulence to the appropriate interior.
