This extensive and very fine collection of French silverware was made by the firm Tétard Frères (French, founded 1880), and consists of a variety of excellent dinner and service ware pieces.
Tétard Frères was a leading maker of silverware in the early 20th century. Initially set up by Edmond Tétard, and making pieces in the Louis XV style, its manner decidedly shifted to the Art Deco from the early 1920s, updating traditonal works with more modern, sleek designs.
The present collection consists of: a circular bowl, a deep dish, and a large number of circular dishes of different diameters. Also included are two rectangular dishes, a pair of mustard pots, salt shakers with liners, salt scoops, salt cellars on display, a card tray, coasters, liqueur goblets and a pair of sprinklers, all of which are fully hallmarked. There are also three original, zip-lined cases.
