This large, antique mantel clock is crafted in ormolu and features a flowing, fluid design that is emblematic of the Rococo style. The clock is surmounted by the female figure of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers and nature, who is swathed in billowing robes and holds aloft a bouquet of flowers. She is joined by the charming figure of a winged putto who holds a pot of honey. The figures are set upon the circular case of the clock dial, which is adorned with a bed of flowers around the top. The circular clock face features black Arabic numerals and gilt scrolling on a white enamel ground, as well as two intricate ormolu hands. The clock dial is set onto a bed of thick, curling clouds, which contain two putto heads. The bed of clouds is set onto an oval base with stepped and curved sides that is hung with an elegant swag to the front and mounted with scrolling acanthus leaves to either side. The entire clock is set upon four toupie feet.
