Of an elegant design, this pair of vases were skilfully crafted from ormolu and cut glass in 20th century France.
The amphora form bodies are expertly made from cut glass, their surface adorned with a selection of fluted designs. The clear glass beautifully complements the more vibrant, gold ormolu detailing.
The glass is mounted with several ormolu features. The acanthus-shaped base extends upwards towards the curved handles on which a pair of cherubs is sitting. Each one is wonderfully cast and holding a trident. The handles are joined with delicate ormolu edging on the lip of each vase. The bodies of the pieces are further mounted with a rich, ribbon-tied bunch of grapevines.
The Rococo-style ornamentation paired with high quality finish, makes this pair of vases a very desirable addition to both modern and traditional interior spaces.
