This Peruvian silver vase displays intricate repousse carvings and a dynamic waved form, making it ideal to present a flower arrangement to adorn an interior space.
This large silver vase is crafted from Peruvian silver and exhibits very fine repousse work.
The vase is fashioned in the conventional bouquet shape with a wider lower body narrowing into the neck and widening on the top until the rim or lip. The vase’s body is crafted in a waved diagonal design, that culminates in the rim, which displayed an accentuated waved form. Thus, the vase displays a dynamic and striking shape, where diagonal convex and concave stripes cover the entire body.
The convex stripes are wonderfully adorned with the repousse carved work, which consists of a flower and foliage arrangement, vertically fashioned, which begins with a depiction of a tulip to the base and continues upwards culminating in dentale leaves. The quality of the vase’s craftsmanship is on full display in the detailing of these motifs and the tridimensionality of the repousse work.
The vase’s base displays its hallmarks, including ‘Amano’, its maker’s mark and ‘925’ for the purity of the silver.
The piece’s shape, generous size and decorations make it an ideal vessel for a bouquet of flowers to be displayed in, adding a touch of luxury and elegance to any interior space.
