This finely crafted ormolu lantern is designed in the Rococo style. It features scrolling acanthus leaf detailing to the bottom, an openwork frieze along the top rim, mask mounts, and four distinctive armoured soldier surmounts. Each of the four glass sections is opaque, with a transparent border. The top of the lantern is formed like a tent, with elaborate draped curtains falling behind each soldier figure.
