This fine glass goblet was produced in Thuringia, a state in central Germany, around 1740. The goblet features a round funnel bowl engraved delicately with a coat of arms on one side and a monogram on the other, with a ducal coronet above the monogram. The quality of the engraving is especially fine. The bowl of the goblet is supported by a moulded and knopped baluster stem, terminating below in a spreading circular foot engraved with laurel sprays.
