Modern glass, cast iron and painted wood side table

Crafted in the 20th century, the design of this superb side table joins together numerous materials and techniques.

The table is topped by an octagonal glass top. The sides of the glass panel are faceted adding a fine detail to the overall design. Round gilt metal pieces support the glass top and are attached to a beautifully shaped patinated iron frame. The patination reveals numerous colours such as brown and turquoise.

The wooden base is skilfully worked to depict a column shape inspired by ones found in Roman architecture. A square plinth base supports the whole furniture piece. All wooden pieces are painted in white and gold, and the surfaces are finished with a distressed look that wonderfully matches the patinated iron frame.

The skilful selection of materials and interesting design make this table suitable for both modern and traditional interiors.
