Description

This accomplished still life oil painting depicts a wicker basket laden with a variety of fruit, including purple and green grapes, peaches, and pears. The basket is set atop a grey marble plinth, which is scattered with an overflow of fruit and foliate sprays. The background is an overcast sky, with hints of blue breaking through on occasion. The painting is monogrammed lower left ‘PH'.
