Description

This beautiful side table is by the famed fondeurs Thiébaut Frères, which was active from the final decades of the eighteenth century until the first decades of the twenty-first. The table features a rectangular veined grey marble top above a wooden frieze containing a push-button drawer. The frieze is adorned with ormolu blind frames and beading above and below. The table is supported on four tapering octagonal legs, which are set above with ormolu waisted capitals and adorned with ormolu foliate mounts. The legs are joined by a shaped H-form stretcher, and terminate in toupie feet finished with ormolu sabots.

The lockplate is signed ‘Thiébaut Fres 32 Anue de l’Opéra’.
