This eye-catching pair of vases was crafted in 20th century France and is decorated with a selection of nature-inspired motifs.
The vibrant green malachite bodies are complemented by deep blue lapis lazuli detailing and lids. The naturally occurring patterns on the malachite surfaces add a visually interesting feature to these French pieces. The fluted and twisted necks lead toward the lids which are topped with a pinecone final.
A pair of mythical dragon-shaped handles mount the sides of each vase, their tails leading towards the garland of flowers and foliage draped to the fronts and backs. The vases stand on square ormolu plinths, while the vase bases above are of an elegant and slender design.
This pair would be a magnificent addition to the appropriate interior space.
