The fine armchairs in this pair are crafted in the Empire style. Each armchair features a cushion, backrest, and cushioned armrest sides upholstered with beautiful yellow fabric finished with bands of cream and blue. The frame of the chair is painted pale blue, which is accented with parcel gilt borders and adorned with gilt rosettes. The front two legs are modelled in the Empire manner as sphinxes from giltwood, each terminating in a paw foot below. The sides and back of the chair are finished with conforming upholstery.
