Pair of large antique English travel cases by Frenchs
£1,800
These intriguing pieces are a pair of antique English travel cases or trunks, variously labelled and stamped for fine makers of the early 20th century.
These large travel trunks, made in England in the early part of the twentieth century, are remarkable vintage and antique pieces: fine examples of pre-war crafts and style, and testaments of English travel history.
One blue, one red, their bodies are beamed with wooden structural supports. They close with latch mechanisms that lock, and are lined with elegant patterned interiors. The makers 'Frenchs' are stamped on the exterior, and the metal locks are also engraved for their makers.Â
