Description

Fit for the most sumptuous of garden settings, these magnificent decorative pieces are expertly carved in marble and adorned with high relief friezes.

Of campana form, like that of the famous Medici vase and many a piece in Roman villas and Italian countryside palaces, they are each carved with a continuous frieze depicting sensual, lightly draped figures in windswept clothes.

They are each mounted on a waisted socle, that bears rope-twists, and are in turn placed upon large square bases. Crafted around the turn of the twentieth century, they are both raised on a later limestone plinth that complements the large, superb marble designs.

The vases: height 100cm, diameter 69cm
The bases: height 62cm, width 44cm, depth 44cm
