Pair of modern alabaster, gilt and patinated iron floor lamps

This elegant pair of floor lamps is crafted from a selection of high quality materials and its design is inspired by Classical Greek architecture.

Bright white alabaster naturally coloured with salmon pink and brown details is expertly carved to create the bowls surmounting both lamps. The lamp bowls are larger in comparison to the rest of the lamps but are beautifully proportioned demonstrating their maker’s great skills.

The soft rock is also used for the stepped bases on which the lamps rest. The light pink and brown shades are more prominent on these pieces. An elongated, slender gilt metal stem joins the alabaster bowls with the bases. Surrounding it are formed iron frames, reminiscent in shape to the outline of ionic columns popular within Greek architecture. The capital includes additional gilt metal detailing leading towards the top of the lamps in an alternating manner with patinated iron features. The volutes are filled with shining gold gilt metal ornamentation adding another subtle, yet sophisticated design detail.
