Crafted in 20th century France, this pair of Neoclassical style malachite pedestals is beautifully ornamented with ormolu mounts.
Of a very rectilinear shape, the surface of each pedestal is completely covered with malachite. The vibrant green surface topping the pieces creates a stunning base on which other decorative objects can be displayed. Adding interest to the design is the selection of ormolu mounts adorning the shaft of each piece. The four sides are framed by a sleek ormolu frame with decorative patterns as well as delicate garlands of flowers and foliage.
Both pedestals stand on a square malachite base supported on four round ormolu feet. Above the base is an additional, larger ormolu feature, its design matching the other refined pieces.
