Description

The fine vases in this pair are crafted from stoneware and are of traditional form. Each vase is amphora shaped, with a square profile and a grey ground. The bulbous body of each is raised on a tapering foot, with each body culminating in a neck broadening into a flared rim. The four sides of the body of each vase are adorned with rectangular cartouches containing polychrome imagery of Chinese country life, while the neck of each is mounted with twin animal-head handles.
