The lobed tapering fan shaped upper part, set into a separate pierced and shaped base, all richly decorated with a blue ground reserved with oval panels painted with miniature scenes of merchants and sea-men on the shore, each separated by a panel with mixed floral sprays, the foot with a further small panels depicting flower sprays, the ground richly gilt with formal patterns.
