Description

These wonderful plates are made from painted porcelain. One plate shows an Arab horseman with a servant holding his dogs, while the other plate is painted with two horsemen. The painting is bright and vibrant, and the manner of execution is especially fine.

Each plate is marked to the reverse with the monogrammed factory mark for 'Montereau B & Cie.', an important ceramic-producing region of France, and each is numbered '36' and bears a further mark with the letter 'A'.
