This pair of porcelain vases dates from the late 19th Century during the Qing dynasty. The vases feature narrow bases which support wide, cylindrical bodies with stepped narrow necks and flared rims. The vases are painted all over with floral decorations on a cream ground, with each featuring eight rectangular sections set around the bodies painted with scenes depicting children playing with descriptions in Chinese characters. The vases feature twin handles to the necks in the form of mythical beasts.
