The wall mirrors are set within rectangular frames with shaped arched tops. The frames are crafted from giltwood, elaborately carved with a variety of classically inspired motifs.
Each mirror features a double border which is decorated with scrollwork and bellflower carvings. The mirrors’ bottom rails are carved with central motifs, composed of stylised palmettes flanked by foliate C-scrolls and beads. Acanthus leaf scrolls with scallop shell bases and Gallic rooster head terminals decorate the lower corners of the mirrors. The sides of the mirror frames are made to resemble Corinthian pilasters. These are flanked by trails of flowers, foliate scrollwork and rooster heads.
The mirrors’ arched tops feature scrolled double borders which are decorated with rosettes, stylised foliage and ovolo borders. The shoulders of the arches are surmounted by flower baskets, and their crest rails are crowned by cartouches, palmettes and flower garlands.
