The pair of cabinets are crafted in rectangular form and topped with a sheet of veined, white marble. The bodies of the cabinets are crafted in a variety of woods of contrasting tones, including rosewood and tulipwood, and formed in three sections: upper narrow frieze, main body and narrow base.
The gently curved upper frieze of each cabinet is mounted to the centre with a plaque surrounded by leaves in ormolu, and features ormolu banding above and below. Underneath, the main body of each cabinet is fronted with a large, rectangular cupboard door, opening to reveal an interior with two wooden shelves. The cupboard doors are centred with oval porcelain plaques with ormolu ribbon frames, set on veneered panels, with further outer borders in ormolu and bands of wood in contrasting colours. The two frontal plaques are individually decorated with bouquets of summer flowers, one with a pink ribbon the other blue, surrounded by a turquoise and parcel-gilt border. The sides of the cabinet are similarly decorated with rectangular veneered panels set within ormolu frames, and the corners are further enhanced with ormolu mounts of scrolling foliage and flowers to the upper and lowers parts. The cabinet bases, which meet the bodies with ormolu banding, are similarly decorated in two tones and feature central ormolu mounts of stylized acanthus leaf form. The cabinets are supported on four block feet.
