Description

This delicate Russian egg is crafted from silver gilt, its body meticulously decorated with a plethora of cloisonné enamel patterns.

The egg is adorned with various shades of blue, red, green, and cream enamel arranged to depict swirling, nature-inspired designs. A selection of prominent flowers draws attention to the complex decorating technique. A thick band of deep red circles features all around the egg creating a division between the two halves. The cloisonné enamel design is placed atop the silver gilt body which has been left plain, its darker colouring emphasising the bold patterns.

The collectable’s body opens to reveal a silver gilt interior in which one can store precious belongings such as jewellery.

The piece is stamped with spurious markings in Cyrillic as well as the ‘84’ zolotnik mark indicative of the purity of silver.

This very detailed egg would be a superb addition to one’s collection of Russian collectables.
