The elegant mahogany side chairs and armchairs in this set are designed in the Régence style that marked the transition between the Baroque of Louis XIV and the Rococo of Louis XV.
This set of four is comprised of two armchairs and two side chairs. The chairs are crafted from mahogany and upholstery in the Régence style. The side chairs feature oval cartouche-shaped backrests finished with cream upholstery. The mahogany frame of the backrest of each is supported by two carved rails, while the upholstered cushioned seat is raised above carved seat rails and gently scrolling cabriole legs, likewise carved with foliate detailing. The armchairs are similarly formed, each with a large backrest and each with cushioned armrests.
