This fine Russian egg is crafted form silver-gilt. The egg, which halves along a vertical parting, is profusely adorned with cloisonné enamel decorations, all above a dappled silver-gilt ground. The enamel has been wrought into a host of scrolling arabesque forms, all executed in a variety of colours. The silver is marked.
