Showcasing an array of outstanding decorative arts and crafts, this beautiful piece is a large, multi-faced, and multi-material mantel clock, made in France in the late nineteenth century.
Crafted from green onyx, porcelain, ormolu, and cloisonné enamel, it stands in an unusual structure, with a set of three dials to the base, surmounted by a beautiful decorative vase on top. The dials, each framed with beautiful red, blue, and white cloisonné enamel floral decorations, show time, temperature, and pressure, with painted faces in both French and Spanish, mounted in a round ormolu structure.
Each element stands up a column, mounted on a green onyx base, with further green onyx, above which stands the vase. The vase is crafted from porcelain and further cloisonné enamel elements, with rich ormolu mounts. Of exceptional quality, it is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and an oustanding display piece - antique timepieces at their finest.
