This cold-painted bronze lamp is modelled in a realistic manner and designed in the Orientalist style, as is typical of this type of early twentieth century Viennese product.
This fine lamp is crafted in the traditional Viennese Orientalist manner from cold-painted bronze. The lamp is modelled as a figure seated beneath a canopy against the side of a crenelated building. The figure sits beside a small table and a jug, while the canopy above is modelled as a rug. The bronze is deftly cast and finished, and the cold painting is bright and vibrant. The reverse is impressed ‘Austria’.
