This fine cold-painted bronze group is in the manner of many pieces produced in Vienna during the turn of the twentieth century by important makers like Bergman and Chotka. The bronze depicts an elderly man seated on a chair drinking tea. In front of the man is a basin and ewer, while to his left is a Moorish-style hexagonal side table surmounted by an ornate vase. The group is set atop a creased carpet, which is in turn mounted onto a marble plinth. The colour palette of the cold-painting is bright and vibrant, and the quality of the bronze casting is exceptional.
