This fine cartel clock is crafted from ormolu in a Louis XVI inspired style, but with hints of Belle Époque exuberance. The case is of traditional shape, with a centrally placed circular enamel dial inscribed with Arabic numeral hour indices. The case below the dial is pierced with latticework, while on either side of the dial are draped laurel garlands. The bottom of the case features an ornate splayed acanthus leaf mount, while the top is set with an elaborate urn-form finial. The ormolu throughout is richly chased and tooled.
