This superb centre table was crafted in France during the 20th Century in the distinctive Empire style, which first flourished during the early decades of the 19th Century. The table features a circular malachite top encompassed by an ormolu border finished with egg-and-dart moulding. The top is supported by four ormolu legs, the top of each mounted with a patinated bronze twisted-leg and winged female figure; each leg terminates in a paw foot. The four legs are raised on a concave-sided square bronze base, which is edged with an ormolu border and centred with a malachite and ormolu urn, topped by an ormolu flambeau finial.
