Description

The chandelier features a central patinated bronze column, which culminates above in an ornate ormolu corona comprised of alternating classical masks and laurel wreaths, and terminates below with a patinated bronze drum, the form of which is imitative of classical oil lamps. This drum supports the springing of three sets of twin light branches, each scrolled branch crafted from patinated bronze and terminating in an ormolu candleholder and drip pan, with its curved form mounted with grasping ormolu acanthus leaves. Each pair of lights is supported from above by a hinged bar that rises in tandem with the central column, the hinge of each of the three bars linked with an ormolu lion's head mask medallion.
