Crafted in the Louis XVI style, this gueridon consists of a circular malachite top, with a central columnar support and triangular form base. The main support is buttressed by scrolling ormolu legs.
The top of the table takes a circular form, and features a smooth malachite center, bordered by an ormolu frame, which is pierced with medallions. Decorating the sides of the table, crafted in ormolu, is a zigzagging line, which is interwoven with looping foliage swags, and fringed by a strapwork band.
Supporting the top is a malachite columnar support, its bulbous top and smooth base mounted with ormolu acanthus leaves. From the shoulders of the column spring three legs, which curl down to meet the base in heavy scrolled forms.
The legs are linked together by foliage swags, and each is heavily decorated with foliage. The three projecting legs meet an ormolu base, which is incised with decorative, geometric patterns. This base is set on a slim malachite plinth.
