Description

The circular Sevres style porcelain plaque is formed with a raised thin turquoise and chased gilt border. The plaque is centrally painted with a scene of a gentleman seated at a table toward the right, surrounded by many younger members of his family. The gentleman is reading from a large book while the others are listening intently. A young child is playing with a dog to the left of the scene. The plaque is signed to the front lower right 'Paul Fortin' and marked to the reverse with underglaze blue interlaced L's.
