Description

The ormolu fireplace fender features a long body – the length of which can be adjusted – which is intricately decorated with pierced, scrolling foliage and a continous dentil pattern. Its body is topped by pinecone finials, and its sides feature scrollwork, pierced foliate decoration and beading. The fender’s ends are mounted with flower motifs, arrow quivers, and beading, and are topped by urns. These urns have shining blue tôle (painted metal) bodies, which are fitted with ormolu classical, bearded male masks, and draped with swags. The urns stand on ormolu stems, and are topped by ormolu lids, with flaming finials.

This fender will provide a fireplace with grandeur and majesty, making it the focus of the room, as it would have been in the 19th Century.
