Consisting of a central jardinière, set on either side by a pair of lamps in vase-form, this beautiful garniture set is attributed to Henri Picard and the Sèvres porcelain manufactory.
Very similar to other such works, this set features a trio of objects, with porcelain bodies with a light-blue, bleu celeste, ground, adorned with elegant ormolu mounts. Dating to the late nineteenth century and made in France, the porcelain bodies are decorated with putti in idyllic landscapes, each of which are signed 'Seiffert.' The pieces are set on splayed ormolu feet, with foliate motifs and laurel wreaths, and the handles are cast in typical Classical style.
The bronzier Henri Picard is known to have collaborated with Sèvres on a number of similar works, and this piece is likely the result of this fruitful partnership, and will make a beautiful addition to any interior.
