Description

Comprising large porcelain bodies, florally painted, and gilt-metal mounts in Neoclassical style with beautiful female busts, these fine vases were made in France in the style of the historic and highly influential Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres.

Each with covers, square bases with canted corners, nets and circular friezes to the necks and bases, they feature grand twin handles, also gilt, with female busts above scrolling foliate backs; the body of each piece is richly and extensively painted with floral motifs, in light rouge and pastel tones, almost continuing directly from the foliate gilt mounts.

Sèvres was a prolific and highly influential manufactory of Suth-western Paris; its porcelain wares are known the world over. These fine pieces conjure their unique stylistic appeal, offering a beautiful pair of interior decorative pieces.
