These elegant gilt and patinated bronze walls lights date from the French Restauration period, and feature a pair of winged putto, holding a scrolling branch with two lights in each hand. The branches are elaborately decorated with acanthus leaves and floral swags, and as is typical from this period the putti are left in patinated bronze while the lights are adorned and decorated profusely with gilding.
The putti lean forward from high above, gliding away from the wall to hold out and offer a pair of four lights each. Their graceful movement parallels and accentuates the objects' functional purpose. Dating from the restauration period, these wall-lights combine a mix of stylistic influences to make a beautiful pair of interior pieces.
