The candelabra feature vase-form bodies which stand on square, stepped ormolu (gilt bronze) bases on guilloche-patterned toupie feet. The bases are decorated with bands of Vitruvian scrolls and stylised acanthus leaves, and they are mounted with porcelain plaques, depicting musical instruments within jewelled ‘bleu celeste’ (turquoise) borders.
The candelabra’s porcelain bodies are vase-shaped and feature splayed feet, bulbous bodies and waisted necks. The bodies are ‘bleu celeste’ in colour and they are parcel gilt and painted with depictions of young lovers in Arcadian landscapes and cherubs holding flower garlands. The vase-form bodies are mounted with ormolu stylised foliage on their feet, with geometric ram head handles on their bodies, and with flower swags on their necks.
Each vase-shaped body is covered by a foliate ormolu lid, from which springs six ormolu candle-holders. For each candelabrum, these include five leafy scrolled arms which are centred on a sixth arm. The central arms are flanked by vine-like scrolls enclosing flowers. The arms support beaded floral drip-pans and urn-shaped capitals which are decorated with stiff-leaves and beading.
