Description

The vases are in the Louis XVI style and are set on square ormolu bases with canted angles and decorative floral motifs The ormolu base leads to a waisted socle with fluting and leaf designs. The porcelain body of the vase is set into the socle, and is of ovoid shape and glazed in bright, royal blue, featuring an upwards twisting to the porcelain shape. The vases are each mounted with twin acanthus leaf form handles in ormolu which lead to a band of ormolu above the waisted neck of the vase and upon which the cover sits. The small porcelain covers are each surmounted by leaf motifs and a berried finial.
