Description

The porcelain vases in this pair take a Campana, or bell-shaped, form, and feature twin ormolu handles which are set with enamel jewels. Their bodies are parcel gilt and they are decorated in the style of Sèvres: there is a cartouche on the centre of each vase depicting scenes of figures and animal landscapes. The cartouches are set on turquoise ground, and the bodies of the vases are supported by circular fluted and flaring ormolu supports, which in turn are set on square ormolu bases with canted angles.
