These magnificent ormolu candelabra, which are wrought in a Neoclassical style, feature feet and branches deftly modelled as mythological hybrid beasts.
The candelabra in this pair are crafted from ormolu in an ornate classicising style. Each candelabrum features a triform ormolu plinth, which supports a tripod foot finished with palmettes and other foliate detailing, with each foot modelled as a female mythical hybrid beast. The tripod foot supports a tapering fluted columnar shaft, which is surmounted by the candelabrum head, issuing six branches modelled as male beasts with swan’s wings as well as an additional branch to the centre.
