Description

This superb tea set is crafted from silver mounted porcelain, a rather unusual and especially beautiful combination. The porcelain is wrought in the manner of Sèvres, with a bleu celeste ground painted with wonderful floral bouquets in Rococo style pastel shades.

The set is comprised of a tea pot, a sugar bowl with a cover, a milk jug, two cups and two saucers, and a large tray. The entire set is contained by an original fitted travel case.

The porcelain throughout is wonderfully formed in the Rococo style, each piece adorned with polychrome floral bouquets contained within finely wrought silver cartouches. The porcelain is bordered with finely engraved silver mounts, bounding the rims and articulating the structures of each of the pieces.

Each piece features a spurious Sèvres mark to the reverse.
